ENG 817

Contemporary Approaches to Teaching Composition

Spring 2011

Announcements

January 19. Since we missed last night, here's how I'd like to get started:

Get the books, especially the Newkirk. My guess is you won't be able to find it at Barnes and Noble, and you won't have time to order it from Amazon, so it will take a trip to campus. Sorry. It's fairly short, and you don't need to study it--it's just a tone-setter for the course.

Next, you need to set up a GoogleDocs account for your writing. Go to http://docs.google.com and follow the instructions. (If you have a Gmail account, you already have a GoogleDocs account--just use your Gmail address to log in without setting up a new account.) Any problems, email me at ebranscomb@mac.com or catch me online on AIM screen name ebranscomb.

If you want to friend me on Facebook, you may do that (search for Rick Branscomb), but it is not required. At the end of the term, I will unfriend you. Nothing personal--I just need to keep things simple, if possible.

To contact me, look for me on IM (ebranscomb—put me in your Buddy List) or email me at ebranscomb@mac.com or ebranscomb@gmail.com.
